Compared to other states, classy florida Ladies have been most busy with young boys during the year 2008. Even this blog has been able to cover over 10 cases of females who have been accused and charged with sex crimes agains minors - some have plead guilty, some have been find guilty - some cases are still pending, so they are not to be considered guilty.
But here's a quick list of court cases and alleged sexual activity between grown women and young boys in florida this year:
Denise Harvey, Vero Beach, Florida
Denise H. Harvey, 37 years old mother was found guilty of having sex with her son's 16-year-old team mate multiple times in 2006. It's reported that investigators were doubly motivated to pursue the case since the "younger sister of the teen accidentally walked into a bedroom while the woman was engaged in sex with him." The youth took the stand testifying he had five sexual encounters with Harvey — in a relationship that he said started with flirting and then a long kiss after school outside the school. He said all except one of the encounters were at his father’s home in the afternoon, between school and baseball practices and games. One, he said, was after hours at her office in Vero Beach. She was found guilty of having sex with a minor five times: four times at the youth's home and once at her office on U.S. 1 in 2006. Each count carried up to a 15-year sentence. The judge ordered her to serve two terms consecutively, one after the other. The other three will be served at the same time.
Kristie Mathis, Seminole County, Florida
Kristie Lee Mathis, 35, Seminole County, Florida, is accused of having a sexual relationship with her 17-year-old neighbor. Mathis faces 12 counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor after the parents of a 17-year-old complained to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office about her activities with their son. Investigators say Kristie Mathis had sex with the teen at least ten times. Mathis lives in a Lake Mary home with her sons and husband, very near the home of her victim. According to court documents she bought the victim alcohol and had sex with him until his parents finally became suspicious.
Stacey Sheldon, Apopka, Florida
Stacey Sheldon, 31-year-old Apopka woman has been arrested by Orange County Sheriff's deputies for allegedly engaging in sex with a 16-year-old boy. Sheldon faces charges of committing a sex act with a 16-year-old.
According to the Orange County sex crimes unit, Stacey Sheldon accidentally left her cell phone at the boy's house. The boy's sister discovered Sheldon's phone and found the video clips showing Sheldon having sex with her brother, deputies said. The 16-year-old victim told detectives that he met Sheldon in July. They had sex four or five times in various places, including his house and her home.
Lisa Robyn Marinelli, New Port Richey, Florida
Lisa Robyn Marinelli, 40, a substitute teacher at Mitchell High School in New Port Richey, Florida was arrested and charged with unlawful sex with a minor in March.
Marinelli is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student. It is further alleged that the boy’s father told investigators that he saw his son “holding his pants together and putting them back in place” after exiting Marinelli’s vehicle late last month.
Reportedly investigators have evidence of numerous text messages and phone calls between the two including one in which the boy allegedly text messages Marinelli, “How about a quickie tomorrow afternoon?” and to which the teacher allegedly replied, “real men only need 20 minutes”.
The sexual relationship is alleged to have started in January when the boy was 16.
Kelly Lumadue, Sanford, Florida
Kelly Lumadue, 33-years-old woman from Sanford, Florida, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In 2007 jury convicted Kelly Marie Lumadue of capital sexual battery for engaging in sex with a five-year-old boy. The conviction was thrown out by a judge citing "potential juror misconduct and an overly-aggressive prosecutor."
After being retried she was convicted on a charge of capital sexual battery of a 5-year-old boy, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Alyson Perri-Jarvis, Largo, Florida
Alyson Perry-Jarvis, 36-year-old third-grade teacher from Largo, Florida, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly engaging in a two-year sexual relationship with a neighborhood male youth.
Police say they became acquainted with each other through neighborhood and family connections in the fall of 2005 when the victim was 15 years old. The suspect then engaged the victim in sexual activity beginning in July of 2006 when the victim was 16-years of age. The activity occurred on repeated occasions and at various locations within Pinellas County, up until August of 2008.
Laura Pace, Eustis, Florida
Laura Lea Pace, 38, a teacher at Eustis High School in Eustis, Florida has been arrested and charged with five counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It is alleged that Pace engaged in sex and smoked marijuana with two of her 16-year-old male students. The offenses occurred during the 2007-08 school year.
One teen told detectives about at least seven encounters with Pace at his home and hers, according to a probable-cause affidavit. Investigators say he provided them with a letter handwritten on the fronts and backs of eight pages that Pace left in his mailbox, in which she apologizes for her sexual encounter with the second teen and tried to explain her drug use.
Cynthia Horvath, South Daytona, Florida
Cynthia Horvath, 45-year-old teacher at Warner Christian Academy, in South Daytona, Florida, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a male student. Horvath faces charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
Horvath came to the attention of authorities when a faculty member at the school overheard rumors of a relationship between Horvath and the boy. It is also reported that students told a school employee of the alleged relationship. Investigators believe that Horvath and the boy had sexual relations repeatedly over four month period, between June and September, and in various locations in multiple jurisdictions.
Angela Leavitt, Pensacola, Florida
Angela Leavitt, 28-year-old woman from Pensacola, Florida, has pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual activity with a minor. She is scheduled to be sentenced on January 8th.
Investigators say she had carried out a months-long sexual relationship with the boy, who was her coworker at the Whataburger in Pace. Sheriff's deputies cite a series of sex-related text messages - at least one of them suggesting Leavitt wished to have the boy's baby. Leavitt was arrested June 10 at Pensacola Regional Airport, a week after she, her children and a 16-year-old co-worker disappeared.
The missing teen returned the day before Leavitt by Greyhound bus.
Sheila Langman, Navarre, Florida
Sheila Broome Langman, 38, a cheerleading official for the Navarre Youth Sports Association, has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy. Langman is charged with lewd and lascivious battery.
According to deputies, Sheila Langman had sex with a 15-year-old boy on multiple occasions between July and September. Deputies interview Langman and her alleged victim after a complaint was filed with the Department of Children and Families. Langman pleaded not guilty in November to charges she had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.
Donna Andree, Manatee County, Florida
Donna L. Andree, 43-year-old Bradenton women, was arrested in November for allegedly engaging in sex with a 15-year-old boy while two other teenagers were present in same room. Police was called when her husband caught them under the covers having sex.
Andree told authorities she knew the kids were at the foot of the bed while she had sex with the boy. Earlier Andree had given rum and a Tilt beverage to her 15-year-old daughter, a 14-year-old girl and the boy she had sex with.
Christina Butler, Tampa, Florida
Christina Butler, 33, a special education teacher at Middleton High School in Tampa, Florida was arrested in October 2007 and was charged with having sex with a ninth-grade male student. For convictions on two felony counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, which can carry possible punishment of 30 years in prison, Butler received probation from Judge J. Rogers Padgett. Testimony covered Butler's reported variety of mental problems, including bipolar disorder.
